Refraction of Sound
Sound waves for from one medium to another, so they are refracted. That is, they deviate from their path. The reason for refraction of sound is the differentiation of the speed of sound on different mediums and different temperatures. There are some consequences of refraction of sound- in the daytime the sound is heard only in the areas near the sound source and at night far and wide.
Due to the heat of the sun during the day, the temperature of the air layers near the earth is higher than the top layers. Due to which the density of the layers of air near the earth is low, that is, these layers act as a rare medium and as the temperature goes up, the density of the layers gets higher as the temperature goes down, ie. these layers. They act as a dense medium.
